How to Create a New Strategy in MindTrajour - and Why a Checklist is Essential!

Let’s get straight to the point because this is one of the most crucial aspects of trading: your trading strategy!

And because it’s so essential to trade with a clear strategy, setting up your strategy is the very first thing you'll do when you register with MindTrajour.

Creating strategies in MindTrajour is super easy! Let’s walk through it together.

To create a new strategy, click on “Strategies” in the left sidebar or the key icon 🔑 — because your strategy is truly the key to success! On the next screen, click the “Add New Strategy” button at the top, right next to the “+” symbol.

Next you can assign a name to your strategy, such as “Stock Trading Long,” “Stock Trading Short,” or “Dividend Strategy.” In the “Description” field, you can provide a description of your strategy. For example, if your strategy is focused on Stock Trading Long, the description could be:

“This strategy focuses on buying shares with the aim of selling them at a profit after a predetermined price increase. The aim is to profit from short to medium-term price increases by defining clear entry and exit points.”

Our Tip: The more detailed your description is, the better—every strategy needs rules!

Speaking of rules, this is where our checklist comes into play.

Think about the rules for your strategy. These will naturally vary depending on the strategy, but here are a few ideas to inspire you:

• Am I calm, relaxed, and attentive, free of mental stress while trading?

• Do I actually want to have the stock I’m trading in my portfolio? Think of fundamental analysis!

• Are there significant support or resistance lines that I can use for determining my entry price

• Always choose limit orders!

• Have I defined my exit strategy in my trading plan (e.g. Stop Loss and Take Profit)?

Take your time when setting up your checklist—it will pay off in the long run, literally!

You can manually rearrange each checklist item using the six dots on the left edge, edit them with the pencil icon, or delete them using the trash icon.

Satisfied with your checklist? Just click “Save” and you're all set!

Easy, right?!

And even after creating your strategy, you can always edit it. Simply click the 🔑 icon in the left sidebar, select the strategy you want to edit, and click the pencil icon on the right.

Btw.: You can (and should) create a new checklist for every strategy you have, because every strategy is different!
